Résumé Le montage expositif permettait aux visiteurs d'ajouter des cartes. Il est resté plein le premier week-end additionnant 36 cartes de plus à l'exposition entre des assistants à la Festa del Grafisme et voisins de Portbou. |
Summary The exhibition design allowed the visitors to add cards. It came off full the first weekend adding 36 cards more to the exposure among assistants to the Festa del Grafisme and inhabitants of Portbou. |

Commentaire du commissaire L'intention de l'exposition, bien claire dans la proposition initiale et convocation, prétendait découvrir des cartes très bien dessinées, ou avancées, jusqu'à exotiques, ou vernaculaires, ou d'une certaine importance historique et, aussi, capter quelque collection assise ou à un demi faire. Le résultat de la convocation ouverte a été, plutôt, que des desigers apportaient sa propre carte commerciale ou, en quelques cas, des cartes réalisées par eux. Quelques apports d'aspect vernaculaire se sont ajoutés à ceux des voisins eux-mêmes, quelques-uns d'assez exotiques. Il m'a surpris le décalage certain entre le niveau des cartes des designers que nous admirons et celles que nous produisons. De l'exhibition on peut déduire qu'on travaille beaucoup plus la graphique que le design de toute la carte, de l'objet, souvent en négligeant le support ou les procès d'impression. On peut parler de professionnalisme mais avec peu de marge pour l'originalité laquelle, très souvent, est assez cryptique et, en d'autres cas, trop liée à l'illustration, à l'occurrence ou au coût. On peut, même, y voir une certaine profusion de cartes imprimées avec des imprimeurs personnels (jusqu'ici, pas de problème) mais avec des achèvements pauvres, à part la valeur du graphisme. Mais l'exposition est très intéressant et plaisant de voir et de toucher parce qu'elle contient des cartes assez bonnes, d'autres qu'elles font réfléchir et entre toutes génèrent quelques bons contrastes. Il faut la prendre comme un instantané du moment. Grâce à tout le monde pour y participer. La collection Jaume Pujagut demande d'être révisée avec du calme pour que s'y révélent des cartes que le temps convertit en joies. Nous attendons que ceci encourage quelqu'un de plus à devenir collectionneur. Les cartes envoyées très aimablement et de façon désintéressée (vraiment, ce n'est pas un commentaire protocolaire) par Stefan Sagmeister, Eric Kass, Aaron Kapor et Alexis Rom mettent les choses à son lieu et donnent à l'exposition un niveau extraordinaire. Les deux premiers les accompagnaient d'une détaillée information. Adam Pickard, très intéressé aussi, il se plaignit de ne plus disposer d'exemplaires de son design pour un entraîneur personnel (voir ici à côté) et il nous l'a envoyée en image de haute résolution.

Curator's comment The intention of the exhibition, quite clear in the initial proposal and call, intended to discover cards very well designed, or breakthroughs, until exotic, either vernacular, or of a certain historical importance and, also, to pick up some collection settled or in half to make. The result of the open call was, rather, designers brought its own commercial card or, in some cases, cards carried out by them. Some little contributions of vernacular style joined in with the ones of the inhabitants themselves, some quite exotic. I was surprised by the real shift between the level of the cards of the designers that we admire and those that we produce. From the show it can be deduced that the graphics are often much more ellaborated than the design of the whole card, of the object, neglecting the material or the processes of printing. We can talk of professionalism but with little margin for the originality that, often, is quite cryptic and, in other cases, too much bow to illustration, to occurrence or to the cost. Even, can be seen a certain profusion of cards printed with desktop printers (until here, no problem) but with poor finishes, apart of the value of the graphism. But the exhibition is very interesting and pleasant from seeing and touch because it contains quite good cards, other ones that they make think and among all of them generate some good contrasts. It is necessary to take it as a snapshot of the moment. Thanks to everybody to participate in it. The collection Jaume Pujagut asks for to be observed with calm to reveal cards that the time converts into jewels. We expect that this encourages more people to become collector. The cards send very kind and selflessly (really, it's not a protocolari comment) for Stefan Sagmeister, Eric Kass, Aaron Kapor and Alexis Rom put the things in their place and give to the exhibition an extraordinary level. The two first accompanied them of a detailed information. Adam Pickard, very interested also, regretted about not having any more copies of his design for a personal coach (see right) and sent it us in high resolution image.
