Depuis 1990, la conception de l’affiche du Festival a été confiée à un graphiste français. Au fil des dix-neuf premières éditions, parmi certains grands noms de la scène française se sont livrés au difficile exercice de la réalisation d'une image autant emblème d’un événement cultureldédié à leur pratique que prise de parole sur leur propre profession.
En vingt ans de programmation et de concours, la manifestation a assis son rayonnement à l’échelon mondial pour devenir un des rendez-vous repérés du graphisme international. Nombre de graphistes du monde entier sont passés par Chaumont à l’occasion d’une exposition, d’un Jury, d’un atelier ou en simple visiteur. Il semblait naturel de leur donner la parole et offrir cette année au public, une vingtaine d’expressions culturelles variées, un voyage autour du monde en vingt affiches pour célébrer la ville et son engagement.
Initiative soutenue par le ministère de la Culture et de la Communication dans le cadre du programme de la Commande Publique. Cette série d’affiches intègre la collection du Fonds National d’Art Contemporain.

Every year since 1990, a French graphic designer was entrusted with the design of the Festival poster. Over the first nineteen editions, the leading names of the French scene engaged in the exercise of designing an image that is not only to be the emblem of a cultural event dedicated to
their practice, but also a point of view on their profession.
Over twenty years of competitions and programming, the event has gained international renown so as to become a major venue of the international graphic design scene. Many designers from all over the world have come to Chaumont on the occasion of an exhibition, a jury, a workshop or as a mere visitor. It seemed natural to let these designers express themselves and offer the audience twenty images with a variety of cultural expressions, a trip around the world in twenty posters to celebrate the town and its commitment.
Initiative supported by the French ministry of Culture and Communication within the Public Commission Programme. This series of posters will join the Fonds National d'Art Contemporain.
