La librairie Nijhof & Lee présente à la Festa une sélection rigoureuse de 20 affiches de la célèbre graphiste Wim Crouwel, appartenant à la période 1956-1962.
Il s'agit de la première des trois grandes périodes de cet artiste, lequel beaucoup considèrent comme le meilleur de sa carrière. Dans ces années, il a été le designer résident Stedelijk Van Abbe Museum d'Eindhoven, sous la direction d'Eddy Wilde, et aussi quand il a travaillé avec le designer d'intérieur et industriel Kho Liang Ie.
Les affiches de cette période sont faites de couleurs attrayantes et avec des solutions typographiques pour les noms des artistes spécifiques. Les affiches de l'exposition sont claires, élégantes et raffinées.
En parallèle il y a aussi d'autres exemples de son travail dans les catalogues, les timbres ou les livres.

Nijhof & Lee bookshop presents in la Festa a carefully chosen selection of 20 pieces of the early poster work of Wim Crouwel.
The period 1956 to 1962 form one of the three major periods in Wim, many considered to be the high point of his poster art. It is the period in which he was resident designer of the Stedelijk Museum Van Abbe in Eindhoven, under the directorship of Eddy de Wilde. It is also the period in which he worked together with the interior and industrial designer Kho Liang Ie.
His posters of this period are done in attractive colour schemes and he often uses one-off typographic solutions in specific typefaces for the artists names. These posters are clear, clean and very refined.
There will also be some other examples of his work such as catalogues, postage stamps, and books.
